ZEBRA Consultants teams up with ROBOTEX CYPRUS 2025 as bronze sponsor this June

8/7/2025

The 8th Robotex Pancyprian Robotics Competition and the 2nd MRC Cyprus Competition were organized by the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) at the University of Cyprus Sports Centre on the weekend of June 28–29, 2025.

Robotex MRC Cyprus 2025 welcomed pupils, students, and adults, offering free participation in over 20 robotics challenges. Winning teams earned the opportunity to represent Cyprus at Robotex International in Estonia and the MRC Global Olympiad in Crete, continuing the country’s strong tradition of international excellence.

This year’s challenges included SUMO, Line Following, Folkrace, Maze Solving, Archery, Bowling, Drone races, and Shot Put, while young students presented creative robotic constructions under the theme “Robots and the World of Water.” The Girls Fire Fighting category returned to promote female participation in STEAM.

A new highlight was the “Human vs Robot” chess experience, where visitors faced off against an intelligent chess-playing robot. Tech lovers also explored hands-on STEAM activities, marine robotics demos, and the upgraded Cyprus-made Kypruino board at the Robo Pit Stop.

The two-day festival was open to the public, combining robotics with entertainment, including musical and dance performances, interactive booths, and guest appearances like the robot dog Laika and mascots Joey and the Dragon.

Organized by CCS, the event was co-hosted with the University of Cyprus, the Youth Board of Cyprus, and IET Cyprus. It was held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, and approved by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, and ETEK.
