On the 28th of September 2016 at Hilton Cyprus, ZEBRA Consultants, Red Hat and IDC joined forces to deliver an executive event emphasizing on how to ACCELERATE the applications development, how to INTEGRATE disparate systems within an organization and how to AUTOMATE business processes.

During the opening presentation, George Christodoulou, the Managing Director of ZEBRA Consultants highlighted the values of the ongoing and fruitful cooperation between ZEBRA and Red Hat.  These values are transferred from ZEBRA, being the only Red Hat Advanced Business Partner in the region, to the end customer through the certified solutions and services provided.  As George pointed out, “It is very encouraging to see that customers in Cyprus are adopting Red Hat open source solutions, both in the public and private domains.  And we are not referring only to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux but to Middleware solutions as well such as Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, Fuse, BPM, BRMS, Mobile Application Platform and API Management Platform”.  

Josef Gemela, the Associate Vice President of IDC in the CEMA region explained how the technology trends, such as Digital Transformation, Internet of Things and Big Data change the architecture of organizations. These changes create huge challenges to organizations today which are forced to transform otherwise they will end up in very difficult situations.  “Open source solutions offered by Red Hat can help the organizations tackle those challenges ensuring sustainability and growth” Josef said.

Moshe Eldar, the Channel Sales Manager of Red Hat for Israel, Greece and Cyprus talked about Disruptive Innovation.  He explained the importance of change, why to change now and the values of Red Hat open source solutions.  As Moshe pointed out, “The strategy of Red Hat is to continue providing innovative open source solutions to the market.  More than 90% of the 500 Fortune companies today rely on Red Hat award-winning products and solutions and the fact that Red Hat revenue grows quarter by quarter, shows the trust of customers towards Red Hat offerings”.

Christodoulos Christodoulou, the Director of Software Development of ZEBRA Consultants spoke about the glue for bringing together disparate systems in an enterprise.  His presentation was focusing on the Integration solutions such as JBoss Data Virtualization and FUSE as well as on the Automation solutions such as JBoss BPM and BRMS. As Christodoulos pointed out, “The challenges in achieving integration are the handling of a plethora of file formats as well as the handling of different protocols and standards.  JBoss Fuse is tackling those challenges efficiently and effectively”.

Amir Zipory, the Red Hat Senior Solutions Architect, has focused on Acceleration, explaining what DevOps is and how using Red Hat solutions such as JBoss EAP and OpenShift can help you accelerate the development of your applications.  The live demo at the end of Amir’s presentation showed how easily and quickly an application can be deployed.  As Amir said, “OpenShift has been voted by InfoWorld, 2 years in a row, as the Technology Of the Year.  For both developers and operators, OpenShift fulfills the promise of PaaS”.
